Consett’s first post-lockdown match will be the FA Vase tie v Maltby Main

Consett will resume their post-lockdown fixtures with the FA Vase 2nd Round tie against Maltby Main, we can announce today.

The tie will be played at Belle View Stadium at 3pm on Saturday, December 5, instead of the scheduled Northern League Division One game v Hebburn Town.

FA Vase 2nd Round ties were due to take place on Saturday, November 28, but this date has had to be moved due to the lockdown restrictions currently in place.

The FA has today informed clubs that any outstanding 1st Round ties and the 2nd Round ties which can take place should be on Saturday, December 5.

The 3rd Round is due to take place on Saturday, December 19, and The FA is keen to get the competition back on schedule as soon as possible.

However, its statement does add: “There would need to be a further review of the competition should the national lockdown be extended beyond December 3. In such circumstances, The FA will contact clubs with an update as soon as it is able to do so.”

We will announce ticket arrangements as soon as arrangements have been confirmed with the authorities and our opponents.
