Consett drawn away to Seaham Red Star in last eight of Durham Challenge Cup

Consett have been given an away tie at fellow Northern League 1st Division side Seaham Red Star in the quarter-finals of the Durham Challenge Cup.

The draw, made today at Durham FA headquarters, will see us travel to the Ferguson Motor Repairs Stadium on Tuesday, 21 January, KO 7.30pm.

It will be the clubs’ fifth meeting in the competition, with Consett victorious in three of the previous four. Those meetings were as follows:

1979-80 2nd Round Seaham Red Star 3 Consett 2

1989-90 2nd Round Consett 3 Seaham Red Star 1

2005-06 2nd Round Consett 2 Seaham Red Star 0

2006-07 2nd Round Seaham Red Star 2 Consett 6

Seaham reached this stage by beating Durham City 2-0 in the Preliminary Round, Horden CW 3-1 in the 1st Round, both at home, and Whickham 4-2 away in the 2nd Round.
