Consett’s hard-earned FA Trophy win at Shildon in midweek has earned them a 2nd Qualifying Round tie away to Lancashire side Colne FC.
They play in the Northern Premier League Division One West, and the game will take place at their Harrison Drive Stadium (postcode BB8 9SL) on Saturday 24 September, with a 3pm kick off.
A limited number of seats are available now on the official club coach to the game, priced £20, on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats must be paid for in advance. To book, call at Belle View Stadium or ring 01207 588886.
Colne FC were formed in January 1996, six years after Colne Dynamoes folded after being refused admission to the Conference.
Initially playing in the North West Counties League, they were promoted to the NPL after finishing as champions in 2015-16.
Our only previous encounter came that season, when we met at Belle View in the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round, with Consett running out 3-1 winners with two goals from Michael Sweet and one from Dan Hawkins.
Colne have twice reached the NPL Division One play-offs, losing in the semi-finals both times. Last season they finished 14th in their league.
Their best FA Trophy performance was reaching the 1st Round proper last season, negotiating two qualifying rounds before losing 4-3 on penalties to Southern League side Tamworth after a 1-1 draw.
They began this season’s FA Trophy campaign with a 2-1 away win at Consett’s NPL Division One East rivals Bridlington Town.
If you’re making your own way to the game, it’s a journey of 100 miles, using the A1(M), A61, A59 and A56. Admission is £9 for adults, £6 for concessions, and £2 for under-16s. Under-12s are admitted free.
There is a refreshment kiosk and bar inside the ground, which will be open before and during the game. The programme is digital, and available from www.colnefootballclub.com or via QR Code at the ground.
