Consett AFC management pair stand down with immediate effect

Consett AFC’s management duo of Andy Coyles and Richie Hill have today stood down from their positions at the club with immediate effect.

They broke the decision to the chairman at Belle View Stadium this afternoon, following a meeting after last night’s regular training session.

Chairman Frank Bell said: “This has come as a surprise to myself and I would like to thank Andy for his considerable efforts over the last four years, during which his conduct, support and commitment have been faultless.

“I would also like to thank Richie, who joined us at the beginning the season and has been a considerable support to Andy and everyone else at the club since he arrived.

“Both Andy and Richie have conducted themselves in an excellent manner, and myself and the club would like to thank them and wish them the very best for the future.

“The search for a replacement begins now and we would like to invite anybody interested in the role of manager to express their interest to myself.”

Goalkeeping coach Ben Cole and physio Gavin Scott will be in charge of team affairs for tomorrow’s home game against Grantham Town.

No further statements will be made by the club at this time.
