Consett face tough test as league leaders Worksop Town are latest visitors to Belle View

Consett face one of their biggest games of the season this weekend when they host league leaders Worksop Town at Belle View Stadium.

The visitors are 16 points clear at the top of Division One East of the Northern Premier League, and are on a 24-game unbeaten run.

But Tony Fawcett’s Consett side go into Saturday’s 3pm kick-off above their visitors in the form table, with five wins in their last six games. Worksop have won four and drawn two of their last six.

When the sides met at the Windsor Food Services Stadium back in October, Consett took the lead, but Worksop ran out 3-1 winners.

Consett will again be without Adam Mitchell who will be serving the final game of his three-match suspension, but Calvin Smith, pictured top, who was sent off in midweek, is available.

The Steelmen will add attacker Nathan Greenwood, signed this week from Whickham, to the 16-man squad they named for the Shildon game on Tuesday.
