Attacking midfielder Kaleb Young is summer signing number four for Consett

Attacking midfielder Kaleb Young has become Consett’s fourth signing of the summer, joining from Whickham.

Manager Tony Fawcett returned to his old club for the 21-year-old, who joined Whickham from Birtley Town in December 2021.

The Birtley lad did a two-year scholarship at Morecambe, then signed for Hebburn Town Reserves after being released.

After Covid he joined his local side Birtley Town for a season before joining Whickham, where he played under Tony Fawcett.

He was part of the squad which finished in a best-ever 7th place in the Northern League Division One in 2021-22, weighing in with several goals and assists.

Kaleb joins Ben Ramsey from Morpeth Town, Aaron Steavens from North Shields and Harvey Smith from Whickham in Consett’s new-look squad for the 2023-24 season.
