Consett kick off league campaign at Winterton Rangers before hosting Pontefract Collieries

Consett will start their 2023-24 Northern Premier League campaign for the second successive season with an away game, this time at newly-promoted Winterton Rangers.

Tony Fawcett’s side will visit West Street, pictured above – which we visited in the FA Vase in 2019-20 – on Saturday 12 August for a 3pm kick-off, a week after opening our season with an FA Cup tie at Kendal Town.

Our first home game of the season is on Tuesday 15 August, when we take on Pontefract Collieries at Belle View Stadium, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Saturday 19 August is a blank date at the moment, pending results in the FA Cup, and we’re away to our old friends Dunston on Tuesday 22 August.

Our first Saturday home game is on 26 August, when we host Sheffield FC, and that’s followed by a Bank Holiday Monday visit to newly-promoted Ashington, pictured below, on 28 August.

The festive period sees an away game at Stockton Town on Boxing Day, while the return game against Ashington is at Belle View on New Year’s Day.

Our last away game of the season – always a popular one – is at Carlton Town on 20 April, while we end the season with a home game v Bridlington Town on Saturday 27 April.

As ever, all fixtures are subject to change, depending on the progress in cups of ourselves and other clubs.

The club will be running a coach to the games at Kendal (FAC) and Winterton, with arrangements to be made in due course.
