Sports therapist Emily Robertson joins Consett’s backroom team for 2023-24 season

Consett have welcomed a new sports therapist ahead of their 2023-24 Northern Premier League season in the shape of Emily Robertson.

Emily, who previously worked with Consett manager Tony Fawcett at Whickham, will be a key member of his backroom team.

As well as providing on-pitch treatment to injured players on matchdays, she will work with the coaching team to help prevent, diagnose and treat injuries.

Emily, from Morpeth, is a graduate of Northumbria University, and has previous sports therapy experience with Morpeth Town and Whickham.

Tony said: “We are delighted to be able to bring Emily to the club. With Gav Scott leading the Reserves, we were struggling to have a regular physio to help the lads.

“Once I found out that Emily had left Whickham and joined another club I made contact.

“She has already had a positive influence, and she is not only good at her job, but professional and committed. We’re really pleased to have her on board.”
