Consett’s FA Cup clash with Penrith switched to Belle View Stadium

Consett’s FA Cup tie with Penrith next weekend has been moved from Cumbria to Belle View Stadium.

Penrith are having a new 3G pitch laid at their Frenchfield Park home, and it was not ready for the start of the season, which means they are playing their first few league games away.

Keen to keep home advantage for their opening FA Cup game against Boro Rangers, they played at Carlisle City’s ground, but the game attracted a crowd of just 65, incurring considerable costs.

To avoid a repeat, they have agreed to concede home advantage in our Preliminary Round tie on Saturday 19 August to Consett.

The match will kick off at 3pm, with normal league admission prices of £10/£7/£4 applying. Please note that season tickets are not valid for the game, and all spectators must pay at the gate.
