Consett add highly-rated teenage midfielder Jack Caygill to their ranks

Consett AFC are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young midfield prospect Jack Caygill.

The 18-year-old, who is a scholar at the Sunderland AFC Foundation, is a central midfielder who has senior experience with Northern League side Billingham Synthonia.

He has already represented Consett, playing for and captaining our Under-18s in this season’s FA Youth Cup.

Jack, who is from Wolviston, has also played for Seaton Carew in the Wearside League.

Consett AFC Chairman Frank Bell said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jack to the club. He is an exciting prospect who is only going to get better.

“Hopefully he is going to be one of many players that we see coming through via the close links that we have with Sunderland AFC Foundation.

“He is a good technical player who can play in a number of positions. He is also extremely hard-working and plays football with passion and desire. With all these attributes I’m confident Jack will make it at this level.”
