Next up: Reduced price admission for friendly v USA visitors Temecula

Consett’s next game sees some old friends visit Belle View Stadium for a special mid-season friendly match.

Temecula FC, from San Diego, California, are on a short pre-season UK tour, and provide the Steelmen’s opposition on Tuesday 6 February for a 7.30pm kick-off.

Season tickets are not valid, but admission prices have been reduced from the normal matchday charges, and will cost £7 for adults, £5 for OAPS and £2 for under-16s.

Temecula have visited Consett once before, in January 2018, when they took a 2-0 lead on a foggy night at Belle View, before the Steelmen ran out 5-3 winners.

Consett’s side that night was a mixture of first teamers and U23s, and our goals came from Danny Craggs (2), David Dowson (2) and Clark Kay.

Four of our current squad played in the game – Matty Slocombe – pictured top in typical friendly mood – Calvin Smith, Arjun Purewal and Ryan McKinnon.

Consett and Temecula do share a common link – both were formerly coached by former Manchester City and Scotland player Willie Donachie.

Temecula began their tour on Friday with a 1-1 draw with Glasgow academy Scoutable United, then lost 4-1 to East of Scotland League side Dalkeith Thistle on Sunday.

After playing Consett they will face Newcastle Benfield on Thursday and Heaton Stannington on Friday.
