Doubles for Curry, Spedding and McNally as Consett Ladies and Ladies Reserves hand out awards

Consett Ladies and Consett Ladies Reserves recognised their outstanding performers of the 2023-24 season at tonight’s awards night at Belle View Stadium.

There were a host of winners, but it was a special night for Steph Curry, Olivia Spedding and Jemma McNally, who each had double cause for celebration.

Curry, pictured top with manager Reece O’ Donnell, was top goalscorer for the ladies’ first team, and was also Players’ Player of the Season, while Spedding was the reserves’ top scorer and Coaches’ Player Of the Season, and McNally was the reserves’ Players’ Player of the Season and Supporters’ Player of the Season.

Becca Linsley was the ladies firsts’ Coaches’ Player of the Season, while Rose Ainsworth was Manager’s Player of the Season.

Emma Hewett won goal of the season for her long-range free-kick v Sunderland Ladies U23s, while Becka Hansen was Supporters’ Player of the Season.

Becka Hansen was voted Player of the Season by Consett Ladies’ supporters.

Annabella Turnbull was Young Player of the Season for the reserves, who end their inaugural season this Sunday with a cup final v Darlington Spraire Ladies. It’s a 2pm kick-off at Hummersknott Academy, Darlington (DL16 7LN).
