Goalkeeper James Anderson makes his switch from Morpeth Town permanent

Goalkeeper James Anderson, who spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Consett, has made the move permanent.

The 21-year-old signed last summer on a season-long loan from Northern Premier League Premier Division club Morpeth Town.

He had madea handful of first-team appearances for the Highwaymen, and previously spent time on loan at Whickham in the Northern League and Dunston in the NPL.

He quickly established himself as No 1 keeper at Consett, and went on to make 32 appearances over the course of the season.

As well as proving to be a reliable goalkeeper, he also made a cameo outfield appearance at Carlton Town, playing 45 minutes up front in a game where he was our only available substitute!

Everyone at Consett is delighted James has decided to make the switch to Belle View Stadium permanent.
