The 31-year-old, who has played for a host of Football League and National League clubs, recently re-located to the North East.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, he turned pro at Crewe Alexandra in 2011 but was released after two years and dropped out of the Football League.

The attacking midfielder had brief stays with Chester and Gateshead before signing with Tamworth in August 2014.

In June 2015 he joined Harrogate Town and went on to be named both the club’s Player of the Year and in the National League North Team of the Year for the 2015–16 season.

In May 2016 he signed with AFC Fylde, who had beaten Harrogate in the play-offs, and helped his new club win promotion as champions of the National League North in 2016–17.

He remained in the National League North, however, joining Alfreton Town in August 2017, before making a return to the Football League after being signed by Port Vale in May 2018.

He started 2018–19 on loan at Altrincham and went on to sign with AFC Telford United in January 2019 following a successful loan spell.

He was the club’s Player of the Year in 2019–20, and scored 22 goals in 103 games in all during a four-year stint at the National League North side.

In August 2023 he joined Stourbridge, before switching to Leek Town in June 2024.

After two goals in 11 games he spent the second half of the last season on loan at Bradford (Park Avenue), where 16 appearances brought three goals.

Brendon won one cap for the England C semi-professional side in 2019.
