Commanding centre-back Michael signed from National League North side Spennymoor Town on 15 August 2025.

Born and bred in Shotley Bridge, he joined the Sunderland AFC Academy at the age of seven, and was with the Black Cats until 2018, captaining the Under-18s and making four first-team appearances in the EFL Trophy.

After loan spells at Norwegian club Viking and Hartlepool United he signed for Notodden FK in Norway on a two-year contract in March 2018.

When that expired he joined Queen of the South on a short-term deal before spending two years at Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.

In August 2022 he moved to National League North club Spennymoor Town, and made 105 appearances over three seasons before switching to Consett.
