Tony was appointed manager on 8 November 2022 as successor to Andy Coyles.

He had been at Northern League side Whickham since October 2021, leading them to a 7th-place finish in the 1st Division last season.

Previously, he was joint manager at Whitley Bay, and manager at Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.
