Consett’s Durham Challenge Cup game v Easington switched to Belle View

Consett’s next fixture, the Durham Challenge Cup tie v Easington Colliery tomorrow night, has been switched to Belle View Stadium.

Easington’s Welfare Park ground has been unplayable for a month, and overnight rain with more forecast made it unlikely the 2nd Round game would go ahead.

Both clubs and Durham FA have agreed the game will now take place at Consett, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Season tickets are not valid for this game. Admission will be £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £3 for under-16s, payable by cash only at the turnstiles.

Consett drawn away to Easington Colliery in the next round of Durham Challenge Cup

Consett have been given an away tie in today’s draw for the 2nd Round of the Durham Challenge Cup, at Easington Colliery.

They are currently 9th in the 2nd Division of the Northern League, and reached this stage with wins over Gateshead Rutherford and Billingham Synthonia.

The tie is scheduled to take place at their Welfare Park ground in the week preceding Saturday 18 November.

Easington’s preferred midweek night is Thursday, though a date will have to be agreed between the clubs.

The clubs have met four times in the competition, with Consett winning three, including our most recent meeting, 5-0 in the 3rd Round on our way to lifting the trophy for the seventh time in 2017-18.
